Yet to be released, Little Favour is one of the most promising upcoming shorts, starring none other than the critically acclaimed Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch plays an ex-soldier who is called in by an old friend for a (not-so-little) favour. Cumberbatch is joined on screen by Colin Salmon (Arrow) and Nick Moran (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Mr Selfridge) providing for a foolproof team. All-rounder director Patrick Viktor Monroe turns his hand to directing once again to work on SunnyMarch’s first film production. Talented with acting, producing, stunt work, sound recording and directing Patrick Monroe seems the perfect candidate to direct this gripping piece that is sure to gain him and Sunny March Production Company some very positive attention. The 50 second teaser trailer has already received a phenomenal amount of interest from the public, who seem to be restless with anticipation for the short films release in early November. SunnyMarch is rapidly gaining appraisal from a strong online audience, claiming “The future of the film industry depends on films like this”.
When SunnyMarch Production Company contacted us, we chose to place Mission Digital’s freelance digital imaging technician, Pablo Garcia-Soriano, on the production. Mission Digital provided an on set digital dailies service managing one Red Epic and two Sony F65′s out of one cart through one operator. Mission Digital’s managing director, Mark Purvis, acted as post-production supervisor for Little Favour. Mission Digital’s Tom Mitchell acted as technical supervisor, creating n innovative a work flow plan that allowed him to re-conform the grade on set, without the use of LUTs. When Mission Digital teamed up with Editor Nigel Galt (Full Metal Jacket/Eyes Wide Shut) we were able to provide post-production picture services from the editorial stage through to final Deliver; Including colour-grading from Mission Digital’s own Pablo Garcia-Soriano.
For us at Mission Digital, this project has been an exciting new venture with SunnyMarch ltd, leaving us eager to work with them again in future.
