Mission’s DIT, digital dailies and video playback services have never been in greater demand, and to continue offering the same unique level of support and innovation that we’ve become synonymous with we’re looking to recruit a new lead for our Production team.

We’re looking for a Head of Production to take the lead on our London and international efforts. This role will be a hybrid one, with a mix of working at home and at either our Garden Studios or Shepperton Studios offices, starting from December 2022 / January 2023.


Mission’s Production team is the glue that holds our other departments together. It’s the client-facing side of the company, and the one that handles everything from day-to-day logistics to producing digital dailies workflows and ensuring the overall satisfaction of our clients when delivering our DIT, digital dailies, video playback and creative services.

Mission is both fast-paced and ever evolving, and we’re passionate about hiring people who thrive in that environment. The successful candidate will be someone with clear leadership skills and with an ambition to achieve. We are looking for a new Head of Department to lead not only this team to success, but also to act as a beacon for the rest of the company when providing outstanding service from beginning to end.

This role would suit someone keen to rise to a challenge, and to be part of an ambitious company growth phase. The ideal applicant is happiest when working with people, as this role will require regular communication with our clients, third party suppliers, our internal teams and the freelancers we support.

Some of the key tasks for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a team and assisting with career development

  • Scheduling tasks and responsibilities for the Production team and rest of the company

  • Regular interaction with senior executives and clients in the UK and worldwide from different parts of the production chain

  • Exploring ways to make the day-to-day running of Mission more efficient

  • Leading digital workflow conversations and calls with leading talent and executives from production companies and studios

  • Working closely with the other Heads of Departments at Mission, making difficult decisions and navigating complex situations

  • Communicating with management regarding the current state of the business and current company challenges

  • Attending industry events and visiting VIP clients

  • This role is based on a 35 hour working week. The office rota is designed so that the office is supported between 8am-6pm, with different shifts covering that requirement depending on individual preference and company needs, e.g. 8-4, 9-5 or 10-6. Flexibility is key and, due to the nature of our business, expect some out of hours work on occasion.


  • At least 2 years team management experience

  • Experience in a Production and/or Post Production environment at management level

  • Knowledge of digital film workflows and practices

  • An interest in the client-facing side of the film/TV production industry

  • A strong initiative and a proactive approach to work

  • A team player with a helpful, can-do attitude

  • A practical approach to technical problem solving

  • An excellent command of both written and spoken English

  • Outstanding client service skills, in person, over the phone and via email

  • An organised and methodical approach to your work

  • The ability to work well under pressure

  • Legal entitlement to live and work in the UK

  • Live within a reasonable commute to our London offices

  • Not necessary but beneficial:

    • Experience using CRM and asset management software

    • Spreadsheet experience

    • Google Suite experience (Gmail, Sheets, Slides)

    • Fluency in an additional foreign language
