ABOUT US

Mission is a major provider of cutting-edge on set digital solutions for the motion picture industry. Our aim is to provide the finest bespoke video playback, DIT and data management systems to serve both the creativity of the Cinematographer and Director, as well as to maintain maximum efficiency throughout the production pipeline. Mission has provided services to studio features including Universal, Netflix, Amazon and others. 

 

As we are growing and taking on more production opportunities, we are looking for a new member to join our Field Solutions team as a Senior Workshop Technician. The role is an excellent opportunity for a person with a keen interest in the technical side of the film and TV industry to develop their knowledge and experience within a dynamic and supportive environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be based at our Garden Studios office, London, NW10.

This role is primarily technical. It requires a good understanding of computers, kit building/wiring and broadcast technology.

 

We expect the role to include the following daily responsibilities:

  • Designing and building a range of Mission kit, including DIT, video playback and data management rigs

  • Working closely with our technicians to implement customisation as required

  • Providing technical support and assistance to technicians

  • Supporting and developing junior staff members 

  • Assisting the Field Solutions Manager with day-to-day running of our in-house systems

  • Collaborating with all teams within Mission to ensure the smooth running of projects

  • Carrying out research and testing of new hardware and software tools

  • Setting up and/or assisting in demonstrations of kit for technicians, staff and clients

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Someone who has a good understanding and interest in the Film and TV industry, with experience in such fields or in the AV and broadcast sectors. Hands on experience with working with broadcast technology and familiarity with warehouse and logistics management.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Self-motivated and organised with excellent communication skills

  • Able to work to deadlines, demonstrating strong time management skills

  • Strong understanding and interest in AV and broadcasting technology

  • Technical knowledge of video/power cables standards

  • Basic electrical knowledge, including electrical wiring and soldering

  • Some knowledge of modern cinema cameras formats, resolutions and capture methods

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills: documents, spreadsheets, presentations

  • Knowledge of Mac computer operating systems.

  • Basic knowledge of terminal and coding is a bonus but not essential. 

  • Past rental experience is a bonus but not essential.
