Bit Depth
Bit Depth
The number of digital steps that make up the dynamic range of an image. The more bits the more accurate the color. 8 bits is 256 gray values, or about 16 million colors. 10 bits has 1024 grays or about 1 Billion colors. The greater the bit depth the larger the file size and the more realistic the image looks. HDR requires a higher bit depth than SDR.
